There hasn't been a lot of craft talk on this blog since the arrival of Miss Kate. There has been crafting, yes, but no blogging about that crafting. I'm not sure why. I just haven't been feeling the blog love. My entries have been fairly random anyway, and I've been toying with the idea of stopping altogether instead of just posting in fits and starts.
That doesn't mean I've stopped reading craft blogs. Oh no, I read those by the score. And today I read something that inspired me to write this entry. I've mentioned my love of projects before and sometimes I find myself with the energy to do "something" and with no specific place to direct that energy. This morning I stumbled upon the perfect project for me. The idea, in short, is to donate handmade dolls to an orphange in Nicaragua. These children literally have nothing and are often victims of abuse. If making a doll or two will bring a little joy to their lives then it's the least I can do.
If any else reading this is interested just know that they're looking for more heart than talent. You don't have to be an experienced dollmaker or seamstress. Believe me, I'm neither. Please stop by the craft hope site to sign up and to view links to doll templates.
I've never attempted a doll before. I'm excited to get started!
